Wood is without doubt the greenest fuel to burn in any stove. To get the most from your wood you need to ensure it is properly seasoned. This will mean buying from a reputable supplier or storing your own cut and split wood for a period of at least 18 months to allow the moisture content to fall to around 20%. Burning unseasoned wood should be a crime, it is bad for your chimney, it will not give out the heat of seasoned wood and you will not get that beautiful clean glass and a truly enjoyable real fire. |
